It makes focused products, and the infrastructure behind them, with an emphasis on native software, careful interaction design, and tools that respect the people using them.

01 How things get made
- A product needs one clear reason to exist. Everything after that reason has to argue for itself.
- Each product stands on its own. None of them exists to complete a suite, and none requires another to be worth having.
- Features, interactions and details earn their place or they are removed. Most of the work is removal.
- Written to be maintained for as long as someone depends on it, which is usually longer than it seemed at the time.
- Shared infrastructure removes repetition between products without collapsing them into one thing.
02 The catalog
A record of what has been made, kept precisely enough to be useful in ten years.
Every product carries a catalog number — onward — assigned by the order things were first made and never reissued. It is not a version, a ranking or an identifier from a database. It is how STARCK refers to its own work.
Products keep their own names, icons, colours and design systems. STARCK frames them; it does not absorb them. The infrastructure is built independently and designed to work together, which is not the same as being one product.
03 Provenance
STARCK products carry a maker’s mark and, where it adds meaning, their catalog number. It is provenance rather than advertising: a small statement of who made the thing, in the place you would look for it.
The mark is a found object rather than a drawn one — a conic field from the Nouveau Tokyo 2024 pack, chosen because it reads as a lit sphere at the size a badge is actually worn, and left uncorrected.
